In honor of this year’s fourth annual @reylofanfictionanthology, Amid Secrets and Monsters, I would like to host a fic giveaway!

I will write a minimum 1000 word fic for the first person to correctly guess the SIX writers who have participated in every previous annual Anthology. (There are over 250 writers who have participated in our first nine projects overall!)

You must send me an ask with either the Tumblr or AO3 usernames of all six writers. I will not accept anonymous asks, because then I will have no way of communicating with you about what you’d like for your gift fic if you are correct!

I’m thrilled to remind you all that ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE (135) new Reylo fics were revealed at the stroke of midnight for the @reylofanfictionanthology‘s 2019 gift fic exchange, After the Blazing Fire Dies. You can find our master posts with all of the fics here, here, and here. Please do leave our authors comments and kudos for their hard work!

All of the fics will be anonymous until January 8, so in order to encourage reading and commenting on as many of the fics as possible, I’d like to host a New Year’s giveaway of a fic of at least 1000 words, written to a prompt of your choosing. In order to win, you must comment on my fic and leave me a comment here with your guess as to which fic is mine (and your AO3 username if it is not the same as here.) If you have correctly guessed, I’ll confirm your guess after the authors are revealed on the 8th and start working on your gift for you!

It wasn’t until later that it hit her.

Later, when she could finally be alone, freed from the Falcon’s confines and lack of privacy, crowded into the already precious space with the entirety of what remained of the once mighty Resistance.

They were nobody.

They were filthy junk traders. Sold you off for drinking money. They’re dead in a pauper’s grave in the Jakku desert. You come from nothing. You’re nothing. But not to me.

When she was finally free from the burden of being the last Jedi, the Resistance’s savior, she put a hand to her mouth to stop from crying out, but like the ever shifting Jakku sands, it did nothing to stop her tears flowing, pouring out of her in a fury she could not control.

Had she truly been lying to herself for all these years? Had she known the truth all along, and just refused to admit it until the dark cave and Kylo Ren forced her to stand on her own two feet, look upon herself, and find that she herself was all she had, all she ever had?

Rey could find no answers in her own sobbing, in her chest heaving, in her heart breaking into a million pieces she could not fix like a hyperdrive or a droid.

So she cried into a meager blanket and pillow, shaking from exhaustion and rage and pain and wanting to howl at the galaxy, at the Force, for treating her so cruelly, for stripping her of everything and leaving her bare in the desert, her heart and soul so full and yet so empty, devoid of the love she’d always craved.

Her parents abandoned her, and so had Kylo.

How long would it be before everyone she just helped save abandoned her too?

• I’m convinced Poochyena and Mightyena are in Kylo’s squad. Dark puppies are just so him. Kylo is Team Valor and will let you know it. He proudly walked to get his Charizard and groans about all the Eevee research tasks.
• Rose and Finn are both Team Instinct. Rose is in it for all the cute Pokemon and doesn’t like having to battle in gyms for research tasks, but when she does she is all in and will absolutely destroy your Pokemon with her team of cuties.
• Poe is also Team Valor, but has a rivalry with Kylo as to who can take over the most gyms.
  • They don’t touch Rose’s gyms, though.
• Rey loves digging into the code and trying to figure out when the new Pokemon and things are going to be released. She walks Togepi for a while, and Cubone will always be one of her favorite Pokemon. She recruits everyone to go take down an Alolan Marowak raid and is super pumped when they win.
• Paige is Team Mystic and rolls her eyes constantly at Kylo and Poe. Rey does the same.
• Kaydel is Team Instinct. Jessika is Team Valor. They are both more competitive than people would assume.
• Leia’s Pokemon are as fabulous as she is. She has a pink shiny Dratini, both original and Alolan Ninetales, and Absol in her collection.
• Rey takes walks during her lunch break to catch Pokemon and enjoy the sunlight.
• Luke is a Team Mystic cryptid who mysteriously takes over a bunch of gyms seemingly out of nowhere. Likely to leave a Snorlax to defend.
• No matter how many times they tell him it’s Pokemon, Han will always pronounce it Poke-man. “Catch any Pokemans today?” he always asks.
